FAQ‘S
General

A Tax Diagnostic is a series of questions designed to enable you to review your clients holistic tax position, with a view to highlighting certain areas where they would benefit from receiving tax advice.
There are three separate Tax Diagnostics available to complete depending on the client type (Company, Individual or Unincorporated). There are sections within each type, you can select as few or as many as you want.
Upon completing the Tax Diagnostic questions the intelligent routing will produce a user-friendly report for you to discuss with your client.

Fact Finds are information-gathering documents. Fact Finds are targeted towards the specific area of tax for which advice is being sought.
This document and the supporting documents are used when any of the opportunities identified by the Tax Diagnostic Tool are implemented on behalf of the client – whether this is to be undertaken by the internal tax specialist, or referred to one of our Professional Advisory Panel members. Depending on the complexity of the query further information may be requested on engagement.

To help assist your understanding of the Tax Diagnostic questions we have included the following feature:
Click “Show Explanation” to reveal the “What” and “Why” text. I.e. “Why is a question being asked?” and “What does the question mean?”
Once you select to “Show Explanation”, the text will appear for all questions throughout the Tax Diagnostic until you choose to “Hide Explanation”.

Billing and Invoicing

Diagnostax collects payment from customers via monthly Direct Debit. See: Set up a Direct Debit payment with Diagnostax.

Setting up a direct debit
Once you have signed up and agreed to the terms, we will send you an email invitation asking you to authorise Diagnostax to take direct debits from your bank account, using the direct debit facility provided by GoCardless.If you click the ‘authorise’ link in the email, the link will then open a new webpage.
Please fill in the required boxes in the form to set the direct debit facility on your bank account.
Note that if the direct debit is being set up on a company account, then please click on the ‘use a company name’ link to switch the details to a company account.On the next web please double check that the details you have entered are correct and click ‘confirm’ to proceed.
Once all the details are filled, please click on the ‘Set up Direct Debit’ button at the bottom of the page. -
We do not accept credit card payments.

To change your billing details please send an email to subscriptions@diagnostax.co.uk.
A member of the customer support team will be in touch within 2 working days to confirm the changes.
Fact Find

Fact Finds are information-gathering documents. Fact Finds are targeted towards the specific area of tax for which advice is being sought.

Log in to your account and click “Clients” and then select the relevant client.
This will take you to the Tax Issues page. Click the “Status” link to reveal the applicable Fact Find.

After completing a Fact Find, you can view or download a copy of the Fact Find and request a quote.

Yes. After completing the Fact Find, you can view and download the information as a pdf.
Click on your tax issue status to open the Fact Find page and then click download, to access a pdf copy of your Fact Find.
Get a quote

The completed Fact Find, the Tax Diagnostic Report and any supporting documentation is submitted to the Diagnostax Professional Advisory Panel to request a quote.

The get quote feature allows a user to request a quote from the Diagnostax Professional Advisory Panel.
After completing a Fact Find, click ‘get quote’, to submit the Fact Find, Tax Diagnostic Report and any supporting documentation to the panel.
My Account

To change your password go to the login page and click “Forgot Password”.
You will receive an email including a link which contains details on how to change your password. If you do not receive the password reset email, check your junk folder. If it’s not there please contact our customer support team who will resend the email.
Tax Diagnostics

Upon completing the Tax Diagnostic questions the intelligent routing will produce a user-friendly report for you to discuss with your client.

Exact timings can vary depending on the circumstances of the client and the number of sections you select. However, on average users have reported that the questionnaire can take between 20 to 60 minutes.
Where arranging a client meeting to carry out the Tax Diagnostic, we recommend allocating at least 60 minutes in order to ensure you have enough time.

To complete the Preliminary Questions we recommend you have the following information to hand:

Tax Issues

All tax issues are listed in the order they are identified in the Tax Diagnostic Questionnaire.
Users have a separate view on the same Tax Issues page, which allows you to sort tax issues by “Section”, “Driver”, “Tax Issue Name”, “Time Sensitive”, “Client Interested” or “Status”.

You can prioritise your tax issues by clicking, dragging and dropping the tax issues into a new order.

Log in to your account and click “Clients” and then select the relevant client.
This will take you to the Tax Issues page where all tax issues associated with that client are listed.

Log in to your account and click “Clients” and then select the relevant client.
This will take you to the Tax Issues page where all tax issues associated with that client are listed. To archive a Tax Issue, click on the “bin” icon under the “Action” heading.
You can archive any Tax Issues if they have already been actioned or if the client is not interested in taking the issue forward at this time.
Tax Report

On the Tax Issues tab, drag and drop Tax Issues into the Prioritise Tax Issues section to pull them through to the Action Summary. To view the Action Summary, click ‘Action Summary’.
Within the Action Summary, edit the introduction and next steps text in the relevant boxes and click “pdf” to download.
A preview will be available on the left-hand side of the page.

No. Once you click submit at the end of a tax diagnostic questionnaire a tax advisory report is automatically produced.
The tax diagnostic report is designed to provide a top-level overview of all potential tax issues affecting your client and cannot be amended.
You can create an Action Summary for your client listing the priority tax issues – see: How do I create an Action Summary?

Log in to your account and click “Clients” and then select the relevant client.
This will take you to the Tax Issues page. Select “Report” to download a copy of the Tax Diagnostic Report.
