At Diagnostax and Radish Tax, we make a point of checking in with who our perfect customer is, at least every year. But to be honest it seems to evolve with our business and we naturally find ourselves looking at it more frequently.
As our business has evolved, so has the strategy. Therefore, it’s been critical for us to keep an eye on who our perfect customer is. Maybe you’ve introduced a new service. Developed a new partnership or made changes to your overall business objectives. Any of these changes will almost certainly impact either (1) the type of client you seek to service, or (2) how you communicate with that client.
The outcome could be that your target client has changed completely, or maybe it’s just a case of tweaking your messaging. I guess to cut to the chase, even if you’ve looked at your perfect customer once before, do it again and again and again.
Here’s a quick step-by-step of how we review our perfect customer. Take a look and try it, you want to make sure you’re putting all of your energy into talking to and attracting the right clients to your business:
For Diagnostax and Radish Tax, we’ve found that our perfect customer doesn’t wildly change. We’re still very much working with those top 1% accountants to get valuable tax advice to all those individuals and businesses who need it most. But where we are seeing changes is in the way we communicate and work with those customers, the services we are offering and the content we share.
